About

We were honoured to be awarded the task of building the new venue for acclaimed regional Euro-Japanese fine diner: Kazuki’s, in their new residency in Carlton.

The interior of the restaurant takes on a sleek contemporary European feel with subtle Japanese influences. Design Office’s signature handwriting can be seen in the curation of simple lines, calming grey-blue tones, velvety textures and gentle lighting. Added luxury is provided through accents of leather, granite and Japanese elm. For those in the know, simplistic design requires a very disciplined editing eye and Design Office evidently have got it down to an art.

From the construction point, great care and attention to detail was required to ensure elements were perfectly built, finished and aligned in order to deliver the visual sense of tranquillity.

If you have the opportunity to venture to the upstairs dining room, take a look at the Sho-Sugi-Ban table, skilfully handcrafted by our own Tom Walker.
